Grub Street, Inc., is Boston's very cool independent writing center, offering workshops to budding writers at all stages and in all genres. It helps writers with all aspects of the writing life, from finding inspiration to marketing a finished work, and offers plenty of other fun including open mike nights and parties.
At Grub Street, I teach non-fiction writing, journalism, and Memoir & Personal Essay. I also created and teach a course on “The Skill of the Interview” at Grub Street, and was honored to be asked to teach the course this year at the annual training seminar for the Committee for Public Counsel Services, the association of public defenders in Massachusetts. I love teaching writing, and I take a bit of an iconoclastic approach. We don't read about how to write—we just write.
And write.
Sort of Zen. Pretty effective. Join us!
